Over 30 years ago I was lead to the Lord by two wonderful and patient people. Only a few years later we lost contact with each other. I had made some attempts to track them down during the last few years but was unable to.  On Sunday, May the 20th 2007, I felt a compelling need to look again.  I plugged the name of the one I wanted most to get in contact with into one of the many white pages on the internet . His name came up as the only one listed in the United States!  I could not believe my eyes!  I then entered his wife's name and the same thing happened, and the two names were listed in the same town. They were listed in a state I didn't expect to find but I had to take the chance. I nervously dialed the number and someone answered.  It was Sonny's voice! Praise Almighty God for the miracle He brought to pass!

Because of Sonny's and Doug's patience I have now been in ministry for 23 awesome years.  I have been associate pastor of two churches, sang with a gospel group traveling all over the south east, fed 300+ homeless men and women and seeing almost all of them accept Christ and be born again, and so many other things I don't have room to list.  I was able to be involved in all these things because of two people that were willing to be faithful to the call God had on their lives over thirty years ago.  I can't say that I have been faithful to the Lord for the all of the 30+ years, but I can say that when I was at some of the lowest points in my life the Lord would put a picture of Sonny and Doug in my thoughts.  During the highest points in my life I would reminisce about all the time that Sonny and Doug invested in my life. I wonder if Sonny sensed the tears in my eyes as we were speaking on the telephone, or if he would the tears that are in my eyes as I write this. I pray that the Lord will lead Sonny and I to the place Doug lives so we can get together and lead people to the Lord during our reunion.

I feel very humbled that the Lord has allowed me the blessing of being able to tell Sonny just how much of a blessing he has been in my life without having to wait until I meet him on the other side in heaven. God bless you Sonny!  If I had a hundred years left to live I would never be able to tell you just how much you have been responsible for in my life through your obedience to God all those many years ago.
