Lighthouse Evangelical has searched the country for a church or ministry who will be happy to legally ordain any member who has accepted Christ as his or her personal Savior, and feels called into the Christian Ministry.

Lighthouse Evangelical Ministries does not as yet ordain or license ministers. Ordinations are issued through Saint Luke Evangelical Christian Ministries, the ordaining ministry of The First International Church Of The Web.

I have been ordained and licensed by other ministries but have always questioned the “hoops” that mainline ministries and denominations have always forced people jump through for the opportunity to follow God’s call into ministry. It is the position of Lighthouse Evangelical Ministries that Jesus Christ is the authority we should follow when ordaining and licensing ministers.

Jesus:

1.     Required no particular schooling or education of his disciples nor did he forbid them because of past sins,

2.     He chose Twelve Apostles to whom he simply said “Come ye after me” (Mark 1:17) when calling people into His ministry and required no particular schooling or education nor did he forbid them because of past sins,

3.     Jesus called the Apostle Paul who later wrote a major portion of the New Testament and He required no particular schooling or education Acts 22:5-10 nor did he forbid him because of past sins (including the murder of many Christians),

4.     It is man’s law that requires ordination and/or a minister’s license in order to perform marriages and funerals.

It is this ministries position that we should be following Christ’s example as our own guidelines for ordination.

The Biblical foundations for our beliefs in this matter are the following verses.

Mark 16:15
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

 2Timothy 4:2
"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine."

2Timothy 4:5
"But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry."

With this in mind, Lighthouse Evangelical Ministries feels it is an honor and a sacred duty to provide access to a ministry who will legally ordain any person in good standing with their ministry who decides to answer Christ's call into His ministry.

The ministry I am recommending has an actual church building with a real Christian minister as its leader. The ministry I am recommending has Christ as its Head.

To receive free ordination you must first join The First International Church Of The Web by filling out a little bit of information on the Membership Page.

Any member of The First International Church Of The Web wishing to become a legally ordained minister needs only to send his full name and statement of faith to Rev. Dr. David M. Ford who is the pastor of both The First International Church Of The Web and Saint Luke Evangelical Christian Ministries. Dr. Ford’s e-mail link is on the Ordination Information Page. This ordination is conferred completely free of charge. It allows the member to legally use the title Reverend, Pastor, or similar title before his or her name, and to perform all standard Christian services, including the rites of marriage and baptism.

For those who question the validity of this type of ordination, please refer to the Online Ordination FAQ page and I am sure your concerns will satisfied. The ordination is from a verifiable Christian Ministry.  I have gone as far as being ordained and licensed through this ministry and am now licensed through this ministry alone.

Church Charters are available from the same ministry.  The benefit of having a Church Charter is that it gives your church the same legal status and rights as any other church. With an Independent Church Charter, you can legally ordain ministers, issue Honorary Dr. of Divinity certificates, and even start issuing Independent Church Charters yourself. These are all important activities for any church. When requesting a Church Charter, please include a URL to your church's web site or some other means for them to verify that you're chartering a Christian ministry. Brother Dave will not knowingly issue a charter to a non-Christian ministry.
