Scripture Passages Dealing With ForgivenessFollowing are numerous scripture passages relating to forgiveness and how we are to react when wronged. I have used the KJV here but have left them in the order they appear on the Pennsylvania Dutch Welcome Center site. We saw a flawless demonstration of these characteristics following the recent Amish school shooting. A Proper Response When You Are WrongedSay not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee. - Proverbs 20:22 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work. - Proverbs 24:29 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. - Leviticus 19:18 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. - Deuteronomy 32:35 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. - Genesis 50:19-20 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. Jesus ChristAll we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
